Chris is a practicing astrologer from Denver, Colorado. He was educated at Kepler College where he focused on cross-cultural comparisons between the various astrological traditions, and he has a special interest in the history, philosophy and transmission of astrology. He recently spent two years working at Project Hindsight in Cumberland, Maryland, which is involved in the translation and recovery of the Hellenistic tradition of astrology. Chris is currently the president of the Association for Young Astrologers, as well as the Research Director of the National Council for Geocosmic Research.
The initial focus of Chris' astrological studies for the first several years of his sudies was in modern western astrology, although eventually he became deeply engaged in the study of the Hellenistic, Indian and Medieval traditions. The basis of his own astrological approach at this point in time is largely rooted in the Hellenistic astrological tradition due to his previous work with Project Hindsight, but he also draws on his background in modern astrology regularly by incorporating elements such as the outer planets. His main area of interest is in the predictive aspects of astrology, but he also specializes in the study of the historical and philosophical components of the subject as well, and much of his academic research is directed towards these areas.
Chris does consultations using a mixture of ancient and modern techniques with a focus on timing and prediction. Current Projects:
- The Association for Young Astrologers recently launched its new website, and we are sponsoring several projects over the course of the next year. We will be hosting the movie premiere of Kelly Lee Phipps' documentary Return of the Magi at the United Astrological Conference in Denver, Colorado on May 18th, 2008.
